Sports Day!
Tuesday 20th July is our annual Sports Day and this year we have decided to make it into a whole afternoon of fun for the family. Following the races there will be lots of lovely things going on for your children to stick around and have some fun with their friends and enjoy the end of term and celebrate what has been a fantastic year for the nursery. As A THANK YOU TO THE CHILDREN AND THE PARENTS for their support this year the nursery will be funding or part funding the activites, so the bouncies will be free to play on and everything we do not need to charge for will be under £1 to take part in. We hope this will also be a lovely opportunity for us to give our school-leavers a great send off!
The schedule for the afternoon will be –
1.30pm children arrive – please ensure children have appropriate shoes on and suncream applied and hats with them
1.45pm Group Photo
2pm Races
3pm Handover children to parents
3pm-4.30pm Summer Fun Day
We will be using the back area of the school field (behind pre-school building) to host our family afternoon of fun and hope to have the following activities for the children and parents to enjoy (and welcome more ideas from any willing parents) :
Bouncy castle/slide
Refreshments stand (hotdogs, drinks etc)
Face painting
Tattoos and Nails
Tuck shop
Cake stall
Guess the sweets in the jar
Name the babies – boy and girl dolls
Throw the hoops to win a prize…..
Fishing game – hook something out of a paddling pool to win a prize…
Pin the tail on the donkey style game – nearest wins the prize
Tombola for adults and children
Making table – lots of lovely things for your child to make and take home
Colouring competition
Outdoor games
As always to make this happen we will need volunteers to man each stand/activity, and as we are hoping to have a great turn out of daddys and grandparents too this may make it easier for some of us to help out.
If you are willing to set up and run one of the activities above (for 1.5 hours) or share it with another parent/s, we will have a list up on the notieboard in the cloakroom from today – PLEASE WRITE YOUR NAME NEXT TO THE ITEM
We will also need items for our tombola, anything and everything goes down well in this – any bottles, unwanted gifts, tins from your cupboards….in new condition would be much appreciated – There will be a box in the cloakroom for you to put these in from today
Also, we are going to ask every child to bring in a jar of goodies for the children’s tombola. Basically any size jar can be filled with whatever you like – sweets, toys, party bag bits or a mixture of bits and bobs are just some ideas. PLEASE BRING THESE IN TO NURSERY AND HAND IN TO STAFF.
We will also need cake donations for our cake stall, any cakes – homemade or bought – would be greatly appreciated as always. PLEASE BRING IN DAY BEFORE OR ADVISE US IF BRINGING ON DAY
